Pity to those who have air of arrogance
|
OMMGG...so yes..most of my friends know about a friend of mine living at my place due to his mom going back to taiwan for a while..so my mom decided to take him in. MISTAKE NUMBER ONE. Ok..so at the beginning..I wasn't as NICE as i should've been..but it wasn't like I was giving death threats to him..he keeps invading my private space. Comming in to my room without permission..BIG MISTAKE. Seriously..I CLOSE THE DOOR FOR A REASON. Doesn't bother knocking APPARENTLY. Thennn..he starts acting all arrogant with my mom. MISTAKE NUMBER 2, my mom not caring about what he does. He starts like he OWNS the place..like WE'RE the guests and he's the host. He goes through pop drinks at the speed of SOUND...THAT'S RIGHT PPL..HE DRINKS IT JUST AS FAST AS THE SPEED OF SOUND..CRAZY?? YES. He goes through my morning breakfast food as his SNACKS. My mom n i get limited use of our OWN HOUSE as he literally takes over everything. The WORST thing he ever did..was ASK for my IP address pretending like he needed for sum UNKNOWN reason..AND HE BLOCKS MY INTERNET CONNECTION BECUZ I WAS LAGGING HIS COMPUTER.>=( WHAT IN THE WORLDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FIRST OF ALL...IIII LIVEEEE HERE..NOT UUUUUUU...SO U HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THIS..AND THE WORST THING IS..HE BLAMED IT ON MY COMPUTER AND HOW I'M ALWAYS MESSING IT UP. NOOTT TRUEEEEEE!~
TURNS OUT..HE PLAYS SUM COMPUTER GAME AND IT WAS LOADING TOO SLOW..WELL..LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING..WE'RE USING A ROUTER..AND MY COMPUTER IS THE MAIN ONE..SO OBVIOUSLY YOURS WUD BE MUCH SLOWER!!!!
DEAL WITH IT.
yes..i've been DYING to get this out. It's been annoying me for a while. THANKFULLY..HE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING. THINK i'm OVERREACTING?
Before..he used to live at his mom's friends house who was also his neighbour. He lived there for less than 2 weeks n she kicked him out. thats righhtt...KICKED HIM OUTT...
he NEVER sleeps. He plays the SAME computer game every single day..doesn't do any hwk...doesn't do ANYTHING cept eat, play, n sleep. GAHH..I'M GETTING MAD AGAIN..THE THOUGHT OF HIM LIVING HERE BEFORE IS HAUNTING MEE..
AND THEN..AS THE WEEKS GO BY..HE STARTS TO GET ALL SNOBBY AND HATES IT WHEN WE'RE HOME. WELL SORRYYYY MISTER IF U DON'T ENJOY US LIVING IN OUR OWN HOME. WHAT? YOU WANT PRIVACY? THEN STAY IN YOUR RESPECTIVE ROOM AND DON'T GO INTO OTHER PPL'S ROOM. AND THERE WAS THIS ONE TIME..WHEN I LENT HIM MY COMPUTER CUZ HE DID SUMTHING STUPID TO HIS..AND ONE OF MY FRIEND MSGED ME..AND HE REPLIED!!!
THAT'S RIGHT..HE REPLIED. HE ACTED LIKE ME THE WHOLLEE TIME WHILE I LENT HIM MINE...AND THIS WAS AFTER HE KEEPS DISCONNECTING ME FROM MY OWN INTERNET!!!
I TRY TO BE NICE..N HE GOES N SNOOPS AROUND MY COMPUTER. YEAH..THANKS A LOT *swears uncontrollably*
AND WHEN I TOLD HIM "next time..don't reply my msgs"
HE ACTS LIKE I SHUD BE GRATEFUL AND GOES "it's not liek she NOTICED." HELLO!!! THAT'S NOT THE POINT HERE!!!!
AND THEN..HE MESSED UP HIS COMPUTER.. SO OK..WE HAD A VERY OLD COMPUTER HIDDEN DEEEEEP WITHIN OUR CLOSET..N THAT DAY MY MOM N I LEFT AND HE CALLED OUR CELLPHONE ASKING US IF HE COULD BORROW OUR COMPUTER. MY MOM TOLD HIM IT WAS IN OUR CLOSET SOMEWHERE SO SHE WILL HELP HIM TAKE IT OUT WHEN WE GET BACK.
....................
WHEN WE GOT BACK..OUR OLD COMPUTER WAS TAKEN OUT..AND TAKEN APART.
.................
HE GOES "oh..rite after i hung up i saw the computer"
WHAT IN THE WORLD!? WHAT? U GOT X-RAY VISION OR SUMTHING? IT WAS ALSO IN A BOX BUDDY..I DON'T THINK SO.
HE COMPLETELY INVADED OUR PRIVACY AND ALWAYS DENYS EVERYTHING.
WHEN MY INTERNET KEEP GOING DOWN..WE KNEW IT WAS HIS DOING CUZ HIS COMPUTER WAS WORKING JUSTTT FINE. AND HE EVEN GOES "she can always use mine"
THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM. SO ONE DAY..MY MOM CONFRONTED HIM N HE S LIKE "NO..I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING..I DON'T HAVE HER IP ADDRESS" HIS WHOLLEE FACE WENT RED.
I HAVE PROOF THAT HE HAS MY IP ADDRESS..THAT'S RIGHT..THAT MAY SOUND SAD BUT I DO.
I CANNOT BELIEVE ANYBODY COULD BE THIS WORSE. IF I EVER, EVER HAD A ROOM MATE LIKE THAT...I WOULD PAY HER TO MOVE OUT.
*phew..that was all better. Yeah..maybe the CAPS wasn't THAT necessary..but it was to EMPHASIZE the pain i was going through. Hopefully..all u ppl with TERRIBLE TERRIBLE room mates can relate to wat i had FELT for the past 4 weeks.
I'm so glad he's gone.
I MUST GO...>______________<

30 hr famine anyone? *note: more ranting
|
OK..so..2nd post..of the day..hm.not bad.
ANYWAYS getting off topic..as you ALL know..ok..maybe not all..not maybe NONE of u may know what it is..so i shall explain.=D
30 hr famine is basically an organization where participants get people to pay them to starve for 30 hrs. Sounds weird? yeah..can't remember the exact explanation (=_=) =P.
Yeah..as you know..poverty exists everywhere. Many children living on the streets goes on a scavanger hunt at garbage dumps near restaurants just to get food to live through another day. Can we really let people live like this? I think not. Poverty exists especially in Africa. This is where 30 hr famine exists. Volunteers starve for 30 hours STRAIGHT (just WATER) to be almost in the life of a starving child. A child living in poverty doesn't know when s/he is ever going to get food, when s/he will ever be able to get out of their horrid lifestyle. Yeah..being in hunger for 30hrs was NOT fun at ALL. I had no energy to do my work, laugh along with my friends..and I was pretty cranky. Now..I'm a person who loves food. A LOT of food. so when I volunteered to starve...well..it was hard. But I managed to get through it all and raised 30 bucks. Yeah..that's actually the min. amount that we had to collect..but it's pretty hard when tons of other people are getting their teachers to sponsor them.
After THIS experience. I've learned NEVER EVER to waste food..and always finish what you're given. =P
Alright. Now that we're on the topic of Poverty..I feel that this topic is not addressed widely enough. Many knows that it's a sad thing to know that many people are dying from starvation when others are well-fed..or even OVER-fed. Yes people. OVER-FED...ok..as of now...my mind is completely blank..So i will come back later n add better comments than THIS. =___=

my normal rants..pretty long...brace yourself..

Ok..so i haven't posted in a long time. Big deal..right? well..it's NOT. So many things are happening at my high school and I don't know when i'll ever get used to it. drugs, gangs, violence..it never seems to stop. A couple of weeks ago a student was arrested for bringing a gun to our school. Didn't bother trying to find bout whether it was real or not, but that is pretty darn scary. Even more scary is the fact that it's not JUST my school. It's practically every high school out there. What I don't understand is why do some people try to be all gangster and such. It's really stupid. It doesn't make you cool it just makes people deem you as a failure...yes that's stereotyping..but when your conversation with your friends go something along the lines of "I'm gonna rob that( insert bad word)" people can' really help but to label you. It's fine if you enjoy the style of baggy-underwear-showing pants and chains, but for you to ACT like your bad gives you everything but respect. Hmm..I'm probably pretty biased right now.(=_=) but this is what I think. I can't stand being in a school where theres people trying to rob/hurt people, just too..creepy. And then theres those "gangs" at my school who tries to act all bad but gets scared if the higher authorities come near them. They start fights in front of girls to make them look tough and they disrespect other people to make themselves look better. It's so..pointless. since when was going out with your friends for a movie cheesy or lame? Maybe I'm old fashioned but this craze is really getting out of hand. First, a very close friend of mine got robbed and beaten up by a bunch of girls after volleyball practise then my whole music class getting robbed of their money or bus tickets just because the room was not monitored (thank goodness our classroom had video cams, or else that person would never have been caught), people getting expelled for fights, and now guns in our school. What creeped me out was when my friend heard of this gun incident, he told me that he had seen people with knifes and steel pipes. yikes. What a safe school i'm at(T_T). To many, I maybe ranting and worrying too much, but when you go to a school where people are sniffing drugs in the bathroom, missing classes cuz they had to go to court, expelled for trying to beat somebody...ya know what I mean? I've survived a year already..i'm sure i can withstand this year as well...
Don't get me wrong. My school's great if you don't include all the bad things. It's very multicultural and respects the different cultures celebrated at our school. Our school consists of over 2000 students. That's right. 2000. So when theres different religions celebrating, they would tell us the background of it over the P.A. We also have this cultural show..it's something they had started last year where students and adults alike can gather together in one night to celebrate multiculturism with dances, food, and games.
Yes..I think i'm done boring you all. For all those who read through ALL of this. Thank you. Thanks for actually reading this. I wanna thank those especially for not thinking I'm..well..stupid for worrying over this topic of violence in school in general, but mostly mine. I'm not going to say WHICH high school it is incase I get in trouble =P. yes..i'm done. Please enjoy your life instead of reading this post any longer...STOP...I SAID STOP READING!!!!XDXDXD

I'm BAK!!
|
Hey Guys!!
I haven't been on here for SOO LONG!! Ever since I graduated from Macklin, I've been too busy in high school.
In Macklin, I was working on a TIG project as I said on my previous updates. Now I'm in gr.9, and I've been busy and didn't have much time to spend. I do miss TakingITGlobal though. Heck, I even miss the pressure and the amount of work we had to do!
The night of the Film festival was unforgettable. It was AMAZING. We were in every corner ready to discuss about our topics.
A year later, all of us have grown apart from each other, but we will never forget the horrible months we had to deal with each other, ending it with a beautiful work.
I'm in business class right now, and I have to go soon for lunch, but I promise I'll be back..maybe...not...or...OO I dunno...but see you all.
Later~

Aliens...believe in them???
|
I didn't believe in aliens before but now I do. I used to think that they were made up and besides, no one really proved they exist. Well, tell you what, I watched the Discovery Channel a few weeks ago and there was one about aliens. You know how there are so many hoaxs in this world about aliens? Well, there's one that not even scientists have proven to be a hoax. It's got to be real right?
Well, the story goes that two sisters were abducted by aliens at the same time. One night, they both had the same dream. In their dream, they both saw aliens and watched as an alien injected a needle-like thing into one of the sisters' neck. When they woke up, they both talked about the dream and thought it was weird. But what's really unbelievable was that there really WAS a hole at the back of the woman's neck.
Unbelievable? Believe it! There was even a picture of the hole. I saw it and it was huge! Now do you believe aliens exist???

TIG Documentary Film Festival Reflection
|
I wasn't very happy when I was first assigned with "Employment". I thought it was a really complicated topic. But as I got to know more about "Employment", it wasn't too hard at all. Our film was mainly focused on Youth Unemployment because we felt that it was an important issue.
At the beginning, the research and planning was really hard to do. We first wrote some articles on some of the subtopics. After that, we were finally allowed to create a storyboard. I was really excited when we wrote the script and I couldn’t wait for the filming. Everything was so hard at first but with the help of Mrs. McDonald, Ms. Roliff, Alberto, Huss, Ben, Lisa, Michael, Jennifer, and Venus, it wasn’t so hard at all. During this assignment, we also had the chance to: create professional business cards, brochures, Flash, invitations, display boards, articles, scripts, storyboards, etc. Everything was so much fun!
After months of hard work, we are finally done! I’ve enjoyed doing the documentary film project. It had been a great learning experience for me. The best part about doing this assignment was adding the special effects. I've really enjoyed the filming and acting too. At the Film Festival, there were a lot of people. Our parents and relatives came and so did reporters and the TIG people. Everyone was just blown away by our films. We were even on the newspaper! If I were offered to do another film, I'd do it!

A flashback
|
When we first started on TIG (TakingItGlobal), we started on little things likes posting a update, posting responses to articles and things like that. First I thought it was pretty easy posting updates and responses and writing about the 10 understandings. I think it was around January when the actual work came. We were divided into groups of 3 to create a documentary film for the 10 understandings. That's 10 groups. I was sorted into Peace and Conflict. I never knew how much work it would take to make a 5 minute film. First, making a storyboard which takes a lot longer than you think. Then we make the script which takes even longer than the story board in my opinion. After we finished the key steps towards making the film, we were asked to do invitations for the upcoming Globalize This! film festival. I thought we only had to do a film but boy was I wrong.
While we were working on scripts and Storyboards, we were asked to do artwork for the film and the film festival. When we were asked to make a logo for our group and because we were in Peace and Conflict, one of our group members thought of using the chinese word for peace and sort of customise the word and called our group The Peace Makers. We thought it was really cool so we decided to use that idea. After we were done with the logo, we were asked to make business cards. We made our business cards different from each others but with our logo on it. We wrote business letters to organizations that could help us throughout the project. I was surprised when I got letters, books, and posters from organizations like international ANSWER, Warchild, etc. It was fun getting letters from different countries. I have to say making the brochure was the hardest. It was either not enough information or too much information or the layout wasn't good enough. Our brochure took the longest to finish if you don't count the film. When we were actually done the brochure, I was so relieved and happy. None of the group members including me wanted to work on the brochure so I think that's why it took us soo long to finish it.
It was the day of the Film festival and everyone was anxious and thrilled at the same time. Everywhere you look, you would see someone working on fixing their letterings or their display boards. We watched our films to see if theres any problems. There were few, but we had enough time to fix the gliches. It was the night of the festival and I was surprised that alot of people showed up. I remember talking to a lady for a really long time about wars and past wars going on around the world and how it had took a role in our lives. I felt alot of excitement when we were talking to people about our topic and handing out brochures, and our business cards. Afterall, we're only 13 and 14 year olds who didn't really know anything about creating films, making flashes, brochures, and writing formal business letters to some major organizations, and here we were in our gym talking and discussing to adults about how pollution is affecting us, or how ICTs have grown over the years. I think I have changed during this project. I have become more talkative and more out going. I learned alot from this experience and I'm more than willing to do this kind of project again because it has changed me and taught me all kinds of things that is probably important for future uses. Thank you TIG!

So much work, so little time
|
If you read my past updates, theres something about our class being the pilot class for takingitglobal. If there isn't, let me fill you in. My class is a pilot class for TIG and we were asked to create a documentary film on the ten understandings. Cultral diversity and equity, education, employment, Envrironment, etc. Our teachers wanted us to make business cards, brochures, and posters. We're having a Film festival called "globalize This!" and it's going to be held on may 20th. I'm in peace and Conflict and i guess we're doing pretty good. We did finish our storyboards and just film a bit more, get some good music(non-copyrighted ofcourse). I just hope we finish just on time. I can't help but wanting the festival to take place earlier...even if it means we have to do more work.... hmm.... I 'm pretty weird, huh?
anywayz...getting tired....
Bye~bye!

Well, after more than 4 months of hard work, our group is finally close to finishing. We've got the filming and special effects done (if that counts as close to finishing). But our little movie still needs some editing and maybe...more flash?

I want to tell them what is not right.
I want to tell them not to fight.
I want to tell them to use their words.
I want to tell them not to do anything that hurts.
I want to tell the whole world what violence can do,
